Succumbing to the continued protests staged by college teachers working under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) finally notified the promotions of college teachers on Saturday. The notification the result of an announcement made by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani last year.
According to the notification, all the college teachers of BPS-16 and above working under the FDE will be promoted under the time-scale formula. It is relevant to note here that Federal Government College Teacher Association (FGCTA) had been struggling for the teachers’ promotion since 5 November 5 last year. “Now, there will be no more strikes and boycotts of the classes. We are thankful to government for accepting our due demands,” said jubilant professor Tahir Bhatti, who is the spokesman of FGCTA.
it is a grate achievement after a long struggle, will be better for teachers and i think they will be much more sincere to their students and will teach with full concentration,should be applied in the other parts of the country for the betterment of the students as well teachers because education is a backbone of a country development.
