Training workshop NBEAC for evaluators concludes

A three-day training workshop for the evaluators of the National Business Education Accreditation (NBEAC), organised by the Quality Assurance Agency of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) concluded here at HEC headquarters on Friday.
The participants included senior faculty members and deans of public and private sector universities.
Pierre Mayaudon, Deputy Head of European Union in Pakistan, was the chief guest in the closing ceremony while Dr Christopher Terrasse, Associate Director (Projects) European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Brussels was the resource person.
Dr Christophe is a Professor of Marketing at the HEC France and is also working on various projects of EFMD across the globe.
The purpose of the workshop was to improve the relevant skills of programme evaluators in undertaking accreditation inspection based on prescribed standards, criteria and procedures and to compare the NBEAC framework of accreditation with international accreditation frameworks and share experiences on best practices for accreditation of business degree programmes and their effectiveness in quality enhancement.
Workshop provided an insight into the European accreditation models and the best practices of international accreditation bodies. There was a comparison between the NBEAC framework and EQUIS framework.
The participants worked in groups to identify the questions to be asked during the peer-review visit to collect evidence to verify the information provided in Self Assessment Report of the Business Schools.
Dr Sohail Naqvi, the executive director of the HEC said the department had developed its quality assurance criteria based on international standards compatibility.
“The process of programme accreditation by the NBEAC is the key element to enhance the quality of business education,” he added.
NBEAC Chairman Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad briefed the audience about the significance of the workshop and thanked the evaluators and resource person for their interest and participation.
