The Punjab government on Friday established its sports, archeology, youth affairs and tourism department. The Punjab govt had abolished the sports department, due to which sports were suffering a lot. The step was taken to continue all activities abandoned previously through the department. Sources claimed that the administrative secretary of the department will be appointed by today (Saturday).
Punjab information secretary made OSD: Punjab Information Secretary Mohaiyuddin Wani was made an officer on special duty (OSD) on Friday. According to details, Wani, a BPS-20 District Management Group (DMG) officer was replaced with Punjab Irrigation Secretary Irfan Elahi, who will also continue to work on his previous post. Irfan was also a DMG officer in BPS-20, a government official said. The move came as a surprise for many as Wani was considered close to the Punjab govt.
