Senate elections will be held on the stipulated time even if anyone resigns or assemblies are dissolved, Punjab Governor Latif Khosa said on Wednesday. He was talking to journalists during his visit to a carpet exhibition. The governor said that according to the constitution there was no bar on holding Senate elections even if any provincial assembly was dissolved. Khosa said that greater responsibility of power and gas load shedding fell on the provinces following the passage of the 18th Constitutional Amendment. “All provinces undertook measures to tackle the worsening problem of load shedding except Punjab, which failed to add even a single megawatt,” he regretted. He said that the Punjab CM should first get the Ayesha Ahad issue resolved. “If he cannot put his own house in order then how could he solve the province’s problems,” Khosa said referring to the CM.
