Government has announced to regularise all 1400 daily wage and contract employees of National Highway Authority (NHA) from grade 1-16 under the cabinet committee decision. The Federal Minister Dr Arbab Alamgir on Wednesday while addressing NHA employees announced the decision under which 517 contract employees who were working for the last one year will be regularised. The cabinet committee had formed the special committee chaired by Khurshid Shah that recommended, regularising all NHA employees including those who have been sacked in 2007.
Minister said, as long as PPP is in power, no employee of the government will be dismissed because this is the first preference of PPP to provide jobs to the people. The Federal Minister urged the employees to work with diligence and play their role in progress and development of the country. He said, NHA is a world renowned organisation and it is the duty of its officials and workers to maintain its standards. NHA Chairman Syed Muhammad Ali Gardezi was also present on this occasion. After the conformation of 1400 new employees on regular basis, the total strength of NHA employees has been increased to 3200.
