Gang impersonating officials busted

The Islamabad Police have busted a gang, involved in looting passengers after portraying themselves as ‘government officials’, and also arrested four other persons for their alleged involvement in dacoities and possessing illegal weapons. According to details, SP (Investigation) Ch Liaqat Ali assigned the task to In-Charge CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon to arrest the culprits involved various crimes. A special team was constituted under his supervision which included Sub-Inspector Muhammad Bashir and others, a police spokesman said on Wednesday. They succeeded in arresting three persons identified as Asif, Ashfaq and Arbab and recovered three pistols, mobile phones and other valuables.
They confessed to loot the passengers after portraying themselves as ‘government officials’ and committing several robberies in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Meanwhile, ASI Muhammad Riaz from CIA nabbed Waheed Ahmed and recovered a stolen laptop and mobile phone from him while Inspector Nazar Muhammad from Sabzi Mandi Police Station arrested Lal Khan for having 800 grams of hashish. Two thieves were also arrested Sihala who are being interrogated for further revelations.
