Mentally challenged man arrested outside Parliament House

The capital police on Wednesday arrested a suspected terrorist from in front of the Parliament House, who later turned out to be a mentally retarded person. The police said he had nothing to do with any terrorist plot in the capital city. The Police arrested Shahid Aftab, a resident of Murree, as he was roaming about the protest camps of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) in front of the Parliament House. “The suspected person was holding a police uniform and looked suspicious,” an official said.
The police took him into their custody and shifted him to the Secretariat Police Station. Secretariat Police Station House Officer (SHO) Hakim Khan confirmed that the person arrested by the police was mentally retarded. “The accused hails from Murree and the police is currently searching for his relatives,” he said.
