The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) while rejecting the suggestion of distributing expenses of Pak-Iran gas pipeline project to the masses demanded of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to throw out any proposal in this regard. While expressing his views the President RCCI Jawed Akhtar Bhatti, talking to the traders and industrialists said that government must reduce its expenditures and it should take serious measures to provide basic facilities to the common men. Jawed Bhatti said that business community believes that government can curb the gas crisis overnight like electricity.
‘Serious steps must be taken in this regard’, he added. He further said that CNG industry is adding billion of rupees in national exchequer by paying heavy taxes. Owing to immense use of CNG as an alternative of petrol, the import petrol has decreased, saving million of dollars. President RCCI said that closure of CNG stations 3-days a week is harming the industry, affecting around 40 million people involved directly or indirectly in it. He suggested the government to bring the CNG load shedding to 1-day per week to promote the industry.
