12 held in Burns Road operation

Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) arrested 12 people in an operation at the Burns Road on Monday.
Over 100 police and Rangers personnel in two armoured vehicles and 10 mobiles sealed off the area after a clash between two groups there.
They surrounded the office of a political party and arrested 12 people there. They recovered eight TT pistols and one Kalashnikov from possession of the suspects.
However, the no official of the LEAs confirmed the arrests when contacted by Pakistan Today.
Sources claimed that the LEAs were ‘pressured’ to release six suspects. Separately, the Chakiwara police arrested an alleged target killer, Fahad, and recovered a 222 rifle along with 100 bullets from his possession.
KILLINGS: Unidentified people on two motorcycles opened fire on a man in the Dalmia area. The body was shifted to the Jinnah hospital and the victim’s identity could not be ascertained at the time this report was filed.
Separately, unidentified people shot dead a man identified as Afroz Ali near Denso Hall. The body was shifted to the Jinnah hospital. The police also recovered the body of a five-year-old boy from the Lyari River.
In another raid, police recovered five grenades from the rainwater drain in Doodh Goth area of Saeedabad.
CLASH: Three students were injured in a clash between two student organisations at the Pakistan Swedish Institute of Technology in Quaidabad. Police lodged an FIR against members of both groups and arrested two of them.
The injured were shifted to a nearby private hospital.
ACCIDENT: Seven people were injured in a head-on collision between a car and a bus on the Northern Bypass near the Hamdard University. The injured were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
