Awami Jamhori Forum, Awami Party and Pakistan Awami Party merged together to form Awami Party Pakistan to ‘introduce democracy in the real sense of the word’ in the country.
Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club Dr Hassan Nasi, Jamil Umar and Fanoos Gujar announced the formation of APP. They maintained that the newly formed political party was coming up with resolution to strengthen the voices of not only down trodden masses of the society but also to represent middle class and women folk along with minority community in its fore ranks.
They said the history of the country was full of wrong economic policies, social and cultural shortcomings and of rampant corruption on the part of military and civil rulers that in return rendered the country to a weakened stand in the comity of world.
There could not be any progress until the country was in possession of landlords, industrialists, bureaucrats, tribal elders and of religious theologians that were busy feathering their own nests at the cost of common people, the leaders of newly formed APP maintained adding that keeping in view these conditions they were justified to come up with a forum to fill the gap of political vacuum for down trodden of society including women folk and minorities.
