Health inspectors appointed to enforce dengue control regulations

Director Health Information Management System Dr Anwar Janjua said in a meeting at King Edward Medical University (KEMU) on Saturday that the Punjab Health Department appointed 32 health inspectors in Lahore to implement dengue control regulations in letter and in spirit.
KEMU Vice Chancellor Dr Asad Aslam Khan and other officers of health department were present during the briefing. Dr Janjua said that 100 nurses had been posted in four District Headquarters hospitals (DHQ) of Lahore which included Government Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital, Government Nawaz Sharif Yakki Gate Hospitals, Government Mian Munshi Hospital and Government Saed Mitha Hospital.
Moreover, three MOs and two WMOs had also been posted besides providing a haematology analyser machine to Government Mian Munshi Hospital, Lahore, he added. Dr Janjua said that Government Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital had been provided 10 medical officers along with a haematology analyser machine and the hospital also got two Complete Blood Count (CBC) machines in donation. Dr Janjua said that 21,590 CBC blood tests had been carried out at 10 blood centres in different union councils whereas 2,697 residual sprays and vector control steps had been taken as case response activities.
He said that a team of Indonesian experts visited Bhullar Basic Health Unit and Township Filter Clinic and briefed the doctors and the allied staff regarding the dengue patients’ case management. Another team of Indonesian experts provided practical training of spray technique to the spray-men in Town Hall.
