It hasn’t been even 24 hours into the passage of a resolution by the All Parties Conference (APC) but most politicians have already lost hope regarding its implementation believing the country does not have the capacity to implement some of the resolutions’ points.
Senator Naeem Hussain Chattha expressed utter despair, saying the resolution would prove nothing more than a symbolic message as rulers could not dare to step against the US. Jamaat-e-Islami leader Fareed Paracha said his party was not very optimistic over the implementation of the resolution. However, he added, the presence of the implementation committee could be a check on the government.
JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman said prior parliamentary resolutions were implemented and so shall this. ANP senator Senator Haji Adeel was of the view that there were some areas which were beyond Pakistan’s capacity. “How will Pakistan army respond to US drone strikes?” he said. He said the government must do whatever it could, to “to rein its security agencies and foreign elements or the World would keep pointing finger at Pakistan,” he added.
