An additional district and sessions judge on Thursday directed district jail authorities to conduct the medical checkup of a prisoner allegedly involved in a murder case, who has dengue, and submit a report on October 8. Gulzar Baig, counsel for the accused, submitted an application in Additional District and Sessions Judge Saeedullah Mughal’s court seeking proper medical treatment of the accused. Baig informed the court that his client’s life was in danger as laboratory reports had confirmed that the accused had dengue and his platelet-count had dropped to a mere 69,000, while his mouth was oozing blood.
