Police arrested five people from different parts of the city on Wednesday. They arrested a man, who allegedly raped a minor girl Laiba, and lodged an FIR against him. The Soldier Bazaar police arrested a man, Saleem alias Sindhi, allegedly involved in the murder of assistant sub-inspector Safeer But and recovered weapons from his custody. Rizvia police arrested four suspects and recovered two Kalashnikovs and two TT pistols from their possession.
The Crime Investigation Department (CID) conducted a raid in the jurisdiction of Shah Lateef police station and arrested Asif Mahsood and Mohammad Noman alias Ganja. The CID recovered a suicide jacket, 25kg explosive material, a 45-metre detonator wire, two detonators and two Kalashnikovs from the two men. CID SSP Chaudhry Aslam Khan told Pakistan Today that the suspects were trained in North Waziristan and they were planning to target government buildings.
