The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Peshawar on Monday demanded the government to extend the registration process of voters in the region.
Addressing a public gathering at Bana Mari, PTI Peshawar President Zafar Khattak said certain areas had remained uncovered and hundreds of families were still to be listed as people responsible for conducting the registration process had not reached out to these areas. He said the registration date must be extended if the provincial government wanted to flourish democratic values in the region.
Deliberating upon the current tension between Pakistan and America, Khattak said any uncongenial condition would cost both countries, adding that the US would have to bear the brunt if it initiated any venture. Prominent political and social figures of the area including Malik Raees Khan, Malik Sadiq Khan and Hassan Khan also disclosed that they were quitting the Awami National Party (ANP) and were joining the PTI.
