The Pakistan Navy is continuing its efforts to provide relief goods to the rain- and flood-hit population using all its resources in various districts of the province. “Relief teams are providing basic provisions and relief goods to the flood survivors and medical teams including doctors and paramedical staff are giving treatment against various diseases,” the Pakistan Navy said in a statement issued on Sunday.
It said that during the last 24 hours, 13,715kg food ration was distributed in district Badin among the flood survivors that also included philanthropists’ contribution. The areas covered included Badin, Sanghar and Jhuddo. “Pakistan Navy medical camps and mobile medical teams are working at full pace. In Jhuddo, 550 people were treated in a medical camp, whereas 169 patients were provided medical aid by mobile teams,” the navy said.
Relief teams ferried 150 people between Jhuddo and Sangi Pharoa through a Zulu boat and also conducted surveys of various areas to ascertain any emergency requirement of evacuation or ration.
