Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Sunday asked people to adopt preventive measures instead of panicking to control the dengue virus outbreak. He asked them to cooperate with the Punjab government in its fight against dengue.
Talking to a group of Punjab Assembly members at his home, he said government efforts supported by citizens and the media could help eliminate the deadly viral disease. He appreciated the owners of private hospitals and diagnostics centres for providing free tests to dengue patients. He asked the parliamentarians to join hands with youths, teachers, doctors and students of medical colleges in the campaign against the virus.
Hamza Shahbaz: Member National Assembly (MNA) Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said dengue could be controlled through launching an organised public awareness campaign against the virus at mohallah and street level. He was distributing anti-dengue kits, pamphlets and other informative material regarding preventive measures against dengue virus in Lohari Gate bazaar and adjacent streets and mohallas.
He visited shopkeepers, residents, elders, children and women and informed them about preventive measures against dengue. He inspected water supply lines in the streets and taped a leaking pipe.
