Finance Minister of Pakistan Abdul Hafeez Shaikh met with the President of Asian Development Bank Haruhiko Kuroda and discussed possible financing of projects including Diamer Basha Dam.
Hafeez Shaikh and the ADB President discussed various aspects of cooperation including the ongoing and new projects in the country and the region, being funded by the Bank.
President Kuroda assured Bank’s full support for Pakistan’s economic development and various projects.
The two officials also discussed possible financing for Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project and Diamer Basha Dam that Pakistan plans to build in the north of the country both as a source of power generation and water reservoir.
Dr Shaikh appreciated ADB’s support for economic development of Pakistan over the years.
