The Punjab government has postponed the first professional MBBS Part II annual examinations for one month due to dengue outbreak in the province. The decision came in response to a protest of medical students in front of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Saturday.
Students of different medical colleges of Lahore staged a protest for postponement of their examination scheduled to be held in October. The protest aggravated the traffic situation on adjacent roads including canal road where the traffic was already clogged due to Canal Road Widening Project.
The protesters moved to Alhamra where they blocked the way of Punjab chief minister coming out from a dengue awareness seminar and presented their demands before him, after which the CM instructed to take required action. Health Secretary Jahanzeb Khan held a meeting with medical students and decided to postpone the exams.
This exam was earlier scheduled for September 27. The new schedule of the said examination will be issued by UHS on Monday. The spokesman said that all other examination would start as per the notified schedule. The first professional MBBS Part I annual examination would commence on October 18, second professional Part II exams on November 10, third professional on November 22 and final professional MBBS annual examinations for all affiliated medical colleges would commence on December 24.
Similarly, first professional BDS annual examination would start on October 3, second professional on October 11, third professional on October 15 and final professional BDS annual examination would commence on November 15, he added.
University of Lahore is also having its MBBS 2nd prof exam on 27th sept.it should also be postponed!!
1st year mbbs exams should also be delayed as there are a lot of students suffering from dengue.

i am also from uol and our prof is on 27th septmber.i have fever these days,dont yet know its dengue or not…..but our prof must be delayed.

the uni should launch a clear cut notificatiion abt the exams of the students of each year not just second year!
UHS is mad. they shud at LEAST update the stupid site so we stop wasting our time in this stress whether we have our exam tomorrow or not. they wouldv known if it were theyr kids who had dengue and had their final exams in a day. passing all tests thru the year and ending up in a mosquito bite stopping you from preparing as well as u could hav is EXTREMELY tragic.
its insane how UHS ( UNIVERSITY,OMG!!!:O) is an institute that does not care about the time of the students enrolled under them.
what are they teaching us? how to take stress? isnt the mbbs college test schedule enough for that already?

prof of all the clases should be delayed not only second year because some of students of all clases are afected by dengey …
and the uni frst said that prof of all clases are going to be delayd but now uhs is cheating all mdcal stdents by delayng only 2nd part prof ….

I was there at the protest, infact i was inside Alhamra Aswell and i can assure you that all the proffs had been postponed however none of us really confirmd it one bit now we all are at cross-roads over this situation and i agree with every single statement up here it was just 2nd year .. lets wait till morning to find out

Part i prof shud definitely b delayed as well along with the dengue problem we also had a very short term tht started in january while second yr classes started months earlier if they have their exams delayed its our right to have our's delayed also!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is the demand of us, students of shaikh zayed medical college, and fatimah jinnah, that our 2nd year exams be also postponed! We have tired out from a two days long, strenuous protest. Dean of Shaikh zayed agreed for postponement, vice chancellor of university agreed, the only person who didn't agree was thick-headed, stubborn principal of fj.
We students request media to please carry our message to the government, possibly governor of punjab and cm, to not only postpone the exams, but also take strict action against such inhumane, sadist fj principal.
