SIM found at Defence blast site

Police investigators probing the Monday blast have found a cellphone SIM at the crime scene, according to newspaper reports.
A senior official was quoted as saying that the police team, during a thorough examination of the blast site found the SIM. However, further investigation was needed before arriving at any conclusion.
“The SIU (Special Investigating Unit) team along with the Forensic Crime Scene Unit of the Sindh police visited the site,” said SIU SP Raja Umer Khattab.
“The SIM would be examined and it would be determined whether it was used to detonate the explosive or not.”
He also said that a human hand been found at the blast site and that it has been sent for DNA sampling.
He added that the multiple pieces of evidence found from the blast site have been sent for chemical and forensic
examinations.
However, there was no final word on the nature of the blast, he said, explaining that the investigators were still trying to determine whether it was a suicide attack or an explosion caused by a planted bomb.
