The Pakistan People’s Party-led government has blamed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for the inordinate delay in the passage of National Counter-Terrorism Authority (Nacta) Bill, according to newspaper reports.
The bill, which was initiated in 2009 to set up a supreme anti-terrorism body, is still lying idle, while, the spate of terrorist attacks has intensified in the country making everybody unsafe.
“We have provided the draft of the bill to PML-N to have a consensus document before it is laid before parliament,” said Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan.
She said the document was still with the federal cabinet and would not be sent to the parliament unless it is approved by the opposition party.

  1. waht will supreme anti-terrorism body do to combat terrorism. Thia will just add another layer. I am sure there are many departments involved. You just need to insure coordination and increase efficiency of those departments. Problem is the PPP which is the worst government in the history of Pakistan.
