Amidst concerns of a growing number of polio cases in the region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)’s Health Department in collaboration with international donor agencies embarked the Sub-National Immunization Days (SNID) campaign on Monday to ensure polio vaccination of children below five years of age.
The polio vaccination drive would continue for three-days from 19-21 September, 2011 to vaccinate 3.25 million children below five years of age in the province, said KP Deputy Director for Expended Programme on Immunization (EPI) Dr Janbaz Afridi. He said eleven out of the 25 districts in the province including Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Karak would be fully covered during this vaccination drive.
