Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that he has vowed to bring peace in Karachi.
“Certain elements have been claiming that government has failed to establish peace in Karachi and Karachi should be handed over to Army. But situation has changed now and peace stands prevailed therein now. What promise was made by him has been delivered. We all are brothers and we are Pakistanis first”, interior minister said this while talking to journalists on Saturday after his visit to FIA headquarters.
He added that he had no personal grudge with JSQM chairman Bashir Qureshi nor he was behind his arrest. If Azhar Bashir Qureshi said so, a judicial inquiry could be held in this respect, he said adding that doors to superior judiciary were also opened to him.
More steps would be initiated to improve the performance of FIA and competent lawyers would be included in legal branch of FIA, he said.
He said further that Taliban and other terrorist organisations were sharing intelligence through internet and curbing these activities was imperative, he added.
