Pakistan State Oil (PSO) stopped the supply of fuel to Pakistan Railways (PR) on Saturday, which might halt the railway services across the country on Sunday if the fuel supply was not resumed.
The PSO authorities said the supply was stopped due to non-payment of outstanding dues and expiry of agreement between PSO and PR.
The supply cut has increased the problems of the PR which is in very bad shape and has already suspended its services due to fuel shortage and engine failures.
According to the PR, the stock of fuel that was left was being utilised for most important and busiest trains.
