Former president Pervez Musharraf, currently living in Britain and Dubai, has contacted two foreign agencies based in the US and UK for providing security to him following his planned return to Pakistan early next year.
Musharraf has convened a meeting of officials of his party, the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), from Pakistan, US, Canada and Britain in Dubai on September 18 at which he will give final shape to his proposed homecoming and other matters, sources close to the former president said.
Though Musharraf has announced that he will return to Pakistan on March 23 next year, some officials of his party are expected to ask him at tomorrow’s meeting to review the situation in the country before making a final decision, the sources said.
“Musharraf is keen to return home no matter what may come. For this purpose, he is finalising his security arrangements in Pakistan with two security agencies from the US and UK,” APML spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said.
However, in the hope of settling some of the cases before his likely return, Musharraf’s wife Sehba has already challenged an anti-terrorism court’s decision of confiscating the property of the former president.
The anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi last month ordered the seizure of Musharraf’s moveable and immoveable assets and the freezing of his bank accounts while declaring him a fugitive for failing to cooperate with investigators probing the 2007 assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto.
Musharraf is also expected to seek the views of APML officials on various issues at tomorrow’s meeting, the sources said.
He will prove himself a leader if he arrives.
i still have doubts that he’ll come back.. lets see!
You r right.
Welcome Musharaf, and face our so-called court, and then get free.
wellcome (Mush) pakistan SC apka wait kar raha hai…
Inshallah zarur saza mille gi is begairat ko…
wellcome
I don't think he will come back. At the nick of time, like Altaf Hussain, he will ask his party members to request him not to come to Pakistan as his life would be in danger in Pakistan.

Please stay away from Chowdurys, Elahis and MQM this time.
Wish you All The Best.
Sorry dear I don't agree with you. You have over egged the puddng.
Commander-in-Chief
There is no one in this part of the world who has your charisma, vision, aristrocratic looks and the guts to face the criminals who run the country.
Welcome home, my commander!
Please don’t give him a wrong impression. This retired General & President has an over inflated ego which could burst open because of your remarks. His reality testing has been impaired for a long time. He lost his Mr clean image almost 2 years after coming to power. Please treat him like any ordinary human being. Please also do not forget Lal Masjid incident. This was a totally avoidable. The incident was a watershed which changed the workings in Pakistan and played directly into the hands of states unfriendly to Pakistan. I would ask you to exercise caution and prudence. Many thanks.
