One Frontier Corps (FC) soldier was killed and several others injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Khyber Agency on Saturday. Heavy firing continued in the area after the bombing incident.
Sources said that a remote controlled bomb, planted in Landikotal Bazaar of Khyber Agency went off with a big bang. As a result of explosion one FC soldier was killed and some others sustained injuries.
The injured were moved to hospital for medical treatment.
The blast was followed by heavy firing which lasted for about half an hour. The blast and firing triggered panic and fear among the dwellers.
The bomb disposal squad (BDS) has collected the evidences from the scene to determine the nature of the blast.
