CCPO assures clerics of security at Friday prayers

The Lahore Police should implement the code of ethics, which has been chalked out with the support and assistance of various schools of thought, to ensure peace during Friday congregations, said Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmed Raza Tahir, while talking to a 10-member delegation of clerics, which called on him at his office on Thursday. The CCPO directed the officials to implement a complete ban on all provocative speeches and hate-mongering material.
He directed Lahore Police to take stern security measure in and around mosques and imambargahs with the help of their organisers by using metal detectors and keeping a watchful eye on suspicious elements. Tahir said that all available resources were being utilised for the protection of life and property of the masses through effective crime strategy and patrolling. He said latest technology had been introduced in the police to prepare sketches of culprits, introducing mobile forensic labs and collecting necessary data of stolen vehicles through latest software.
The CCPO said effective steps had been taken to eliminate street crimes. He informed the clerics about the future course of action of Lahore Police in maintenance of law and order in the city. The clerics appreciated the efforts of Lahore Police and assured their wholehearted cooperation in this regard.
