The Awami National Party (ANP) Punjab chapter on Thursday demanded the CJP to constitute a judicial commission to probe into the charges of former Sindh senior minister Zulfiqar Mirza against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) due to their seriousness.
Holding a joint press conference at the Lahore Press Club, ANP leaders Nasir Mahmood Chaudhry, Punjab General Secretary Rizwan Zafar and Amir Sajjad Lodhi called for formation of a commission to provide justice to the grieved families of victims of target killing. Expressing concerns over the deteriorating law and order in the country, they said that the country was passing through a critical phase and requires unity among the whole nation.
The ANP leaders said that at this critical time, terrorists and external forces were trying to weaken Pakistan while on the other hand, internal forces were busy fighting for their vested interests. They said that everybody knew that the MQM was involved in target killings and extortion in Karachi and there was a dire need to check its activities. The ANP leaders slammed Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for declaring the ANP as a terrorist party adding that his own credibility was doubtful and how could he blame any other patriotic party.
