A minor altercation between former Pakistani foreign minister Khursheed Kasuri’s brother, Omer Kasuri, and US diplomats ensued when the former stopped his car in front of US Consulate vehicles on Tuesday. Reports suggest Omer was driving his car when a US Consulate vehicle followed by an Elite Force vehicle attempted to cross his car twice from the wrong
side near Sherpao Bridge. An infuriated Omer parked his car in front of the US Consulate’s convoy near the Sherpao Bridge checkpost, lodging his protest. He blocked the road for a number of minutes. The
matter was later resolved on the intervention of local police and military police officials.
SP Hashmat Kamal said the man protesting at the checkpost stopped his protest when police reached the scene and heard his complaint.
