The Awami National Party (ANP) activists on Tuesday organised a protest rally against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for levelling false allegations against their party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan.
The rally, led by Senator Zahid Khan, started from the Sitara Market and culminated outside the National Press Club. Speaking on the occasion, the ANP leader demanded that the allegations levelled by Zulfiqar Mirza against the MQM should be investigated. “We strongly condemn Altaf’s statement in which he said no Pakhtun would be allowed to live in Karachi.”
Zahid promised that Altaf Hussain would not be permitted to continue terrorist activities in the business hub of the country, adding that these forces were trying to damage the country with the foreign support. Zahid expressed his party’s satisfaction over the ongoing operation in Karachi, saying the action should continue till the complete elimination of terrorist elements.
“The anti-peace elements should be brought to justice,” the ANP leader stressed, adding that every citizen had the right on Karachi and it was a high time for every force to play its due role. Highlighting his party’s stance, he said they did not want confrontation and desired peace in Karachi and across the country.
The protesters said there was a difference between politics and terrorism, adding the Pakistan was encircled by an enormous crisis and the political leaders should avoid augmenting the problems.
