At least four patients on ventilators who were needed to be on oxygen owing to their condition died at Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital due to power outages on Tuesday.
The hospital had reportedly been out of power since midnight and the patients were admitted in Neuro Surgery ward.
On the other hand, the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) spokesman said that KESC was providing electricity to the hospital without any suspension while the power outages occurred due to some fault in hospital’s electric distribution system.
The hospital sources said the generators also failed working due to the protracted load shedding, resulting in four patients’ death.
The families and relatives of the deceased have expressed anger over the negligence of the authorities that cost the lives of their dear ones.
