ANP leader killed in remote-controlled bomb blast in Dir

Awami National Party Executive Committee member Sher Muhammad Khan was killed in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Bandai area of Lower Dir on Tuesday.
Along with his driver and guards, the ANP leader was in a van in Bandai area when he was attacked with a remote-controlled explosive device. Sher Khan died on the spot while the other four people were injured in the incident.
The security forces cordoned off the area and launched search operation. The injured were urgently shifted to the District Hospital Timergrah where their condition is said to be out of danger.
In a message, President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned killing of the ANP leader, and said such incidents would not deter government’s resolve to fight terrorism. He expressed sorrow over the death of Sher Khan and prayed for his departed soul to rest in peace.

  1. when they say remote controlled they mean improvised explosive devices. I am sure most of us who witness these blasts don't even know about IED's.
