Pakistan Post to hold letter writing contest

The Pakistan Post has announced to hold a mega national letter writing competition on the occasion of Pakistan’s Defence Day, said a press statement issued here on Wednesday. It said the Pakistan Post would invite people from all walks of life to take part in the competition and that the winners with be given attractive cash prizes.
The competition involves following seven topics: 1. The Last Address of Holy Prophet – A manifesto of Human Dignity, 2. Rights and Obligations of Parents, 3. Unity, Faith, Discipline – the foundation of Pakistan, 4. Role of Media in Promoting National Integration, 5. The burning issues of Pakistan and their Solution, 6. Unified Education System – Reality or Dream? 7. Why I idealise Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as a great leader? The cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000, and Rs 20,000 will be given to first, second and third position holders respectively. A special prize of Rs 25,000 will also be given to the senior most letter writer.

a great effort to grant the nation to come out of their shell of selfish thoughts, but I wish that some of the topics would have addressed the issue of terrorism and its causes, especially. Actually we are all afraid of terrorists, even the courts; because they have never sentenced any terrorist to death so far. The police hands over the terrorists to them, but the courts even the Supreme Court tend to release them. We all are contributing to terrorism.

it is a very marvellous step tht was taken by pak post.but i m confused about how can we right a ltter of 1200 words on these topics on letter pattren?can anyone guide me tht how we will start the letter?

  just start like an ordinary letter u may write to ur brother, father, sister or any friend nd discuss the topic and give ur observations, thoughts nd analysis etc just try to write if it works, then cool if it not then join school!!

i think that this type of contests are the major need of the nation now a days and it will be a great success if the prise awards are also on the basis of merit. suck kind of competitions will motivate the people to hold the pen and express their views about the sensitive topics…………………………….

i hav participated and also there is call from my distt: post office that there is gift hamper and certificate for you, but few days letter they refuse to give me my certificate. i love this contest but the offices of rural sides they dont gives their gifts, cerficates what so ever, to the participants.

Let me inform you guys of something that has come to my knowledge that prizes are not given on merit basis and only the beloved ones of Pakistan Post are blessed with the so called cash prizes.I am not criticizing but this is reality and you have to got to grow up now and know the harsh realities of Pakistan Post so if you are just doing it for prizes then forget it and try your luck at another platform.

I participated in this competition … but something really wrong is done by pak post . they planned to announce the results on 23rd December but now it's 18th april 12 and the result is not announced ! that's great irresponsibility ! I called the director of post office, but he said he does not know anything about it .. and he will give me the result info in a week .. but it has been more than one week , and i have received no info . According to the director result has been announced , but he does not know anything about it ( although he was the one to arrange the contest ) , isn't it funny ?
