The family of triple murder victims are once again distraught with stress and anxiety and struck with disbelief at the failure of the investigation police, who have been unable to arrest the killers.
Constant threats from murderers and police’s confirmation regarding life threats to the victim family has added to the miseries of the family, as the DIG operations directed the victims’ family to stay inside their house, as killers had paid Rs 1 million to unknown shooters to kill the plaintiff in the case. Per details Malik Ashraf, resident of Main Bazaar, Kot Kamboh had an enmity with Adnan Aziz Group over the acquisition of tender in Bakra Mandi.
Malik Ashraf and his son Malik Azhar Ashraf were sitting outside their house when armed men opened indiscriminate fire on them.
Resultantly, Malik Ashraf and Azhar died on the spot, while one of their neighbours, Sufi Muhammad Hussain, succumbed to injuries at a hospital.
Malik Ashraf and his son Azhar Ashraf were killed by armed men of the Adnan Aziz Group in order to stop them from pursuing murder case of Malik Ashraf’s 18-years-old son Babar Ashraf, who was gunned down by the same party back in 2005 during a clash between the two groups at a marriage ceremony in Hanjerwal area.
According to Mohsin Ashraf, younger son of deceased Malik Ashraf, Nawankot police registered a case against Ali Adnan, Ramzan alias Moon, Nazir alias Jheera, Aasso and Dano on murder charges and also nominated Adnan Aziz, Mehmood Aziz, Farooq and Faisal under section 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Mohsin said the Nawankot investigation police only managed to arrest four accused, Ramzan, Nazir, Faisal and Farooq, while the rest were still at large.
He said police had also not arrested the four accused, Chaudhary Naveed, Asad, Anwarul Haq and Kamran, who killed his younger brother Babar in 2005.
He said the four accused persons were declared proclaimed offenders, but were never nabbed by police. “We are receiving regular threats in which the caller usually order to settle the matter with the accused men and threatens that if they did not settle the matter, they would be killed like our father and brothers,” Mohsin added.
Investigation SSP Abdul Razaq Cheema said police was trying hard to arrest the remaining accused, adding that two of the accused, including Adnan Aziz, had escaped to Dubai. He said they had completed all formalities in order to get Red Warrants for the extradition of Adnan Aziz and others from Dubai.
