LAHORE – Continuing in the tradition of holding branch elections every two years, Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Lahore chapter elections would be held on December 29 at the PMA House, Ferozepur Road, Lahore, PMA Lahore Election Commissioner Professor Ashraf Nizami and Deputy Election Commissioner Dr Shahid Malik made this announcement in a press conference at the PMA House.
They said that after scrutiny and objections from candidates, the nomination papers of Dr Yasmeen Rashid, Tanveer Anwar and Dr Abrar Ashraf for president were accepted while elections would also be held for other posts including vice president male, vice president female, general secretary, joint secretary male, joint secretary female and finance secretary.
They said that 2,505 doctors would cast their votes in the polls. Polling would be held from 9am to 4pm without any break and the final date for withdrawing nomination papers was December 26.
