Two Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) planes suffered from engine failure on Saturday and had to make emergency landings but all passengers on board remained safe, a private TV channel reported. PIA’s flight PK-501 on way to Turbat from Karachi landed safely at Karachi airport.
Twenty passengers besides the staff were on the plane, which developed a fault in one of its engines after half an hour of taking off from Karachi. In another incident of engine failure, PIA flight PK-508, en route to Karachi from Panjgur, also made an emergency landing. Captain of the flight informed the Karachi tower about the situation after which Civil Aviation Authority made arrangements for the flight’s emergency landing.
