A man died because of alleged negligence of a doctor in the Gujjar Pura Police precincts on Saturday.
Gujjar Pura Police Station Station House Officer Inspector Shahid Ali said Muhammad Saqib, 25, resident of Akhri Mint Stop, was rushed to Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital after he drank poison and died four hours later. He said Saqib’s father Shuakat Ali claimed that on-duty doctor Haroon at Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital did not treat Saqib properly hence he died.
He said a first information report (FIR) was lodged under section 319 against the doctor on Shaukat’s complaint.
THREE INJURED: Three people were shifted to different hospitals after being injured in road accidents on Saturday. Edhi officials said Robina Bibi, 30, resident of Jalo Mor, got injured after being struck by an over-speeding car near the Ring Road. She was shifted to Mayo Hospital in critical condition. Separately, Hameed Ullah, 45, got injured as his bike collided with a car near Mughalpura Chowk. Edhi officials shifted him to Services Hospital. In yet another accident, a fifty-year-old man was seriously injured.
He was later shifted to Services Hospital in critical condition.
MAN DEAD: Lt Col Sohail Asharf, 45, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Nisar Colony Police precincts on Saturday. According to details, Sohail who belonged to intelligent agencies was home on Eid holidays. His wife and son had gone to his in-laws’ house for Eid and as they returned, they found Sohail dead in the bathroom. Sohail’s wife Dr Shagufta informed the police and filed a case against unknown murderers.
