Altaf Hussain in hospital, says MQM

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Adam Thomson on Monday rejected reports that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain had been arrested in London in connection with the murder of party leader Dr Imran Farooq or that Altaf had tried to move out of the United Kingdom, as the MQM said that its party chief was under treatment in the hospital since last week. The British high commissioner was talking to reporters after a reception hosted in the honor of Pakistani special athletes at the British High Commission.
He said he had no information about a letter Altaf Hussain allegedly wrote to former British prime minister Tony Blair. Thomson also denied having knowledge of a letter written by MQM leader Nasreen Jalil against Zulfiqar Mirza. Earlier, in a press statement, the MQM said that Altaf Hussain fell ill about a week ago and was recovering at the hospital. The MQM Coordination Committee appealed to the people to remain united, pray for Altaf and not give ears to rumours. Earlier, reports circulated around the country about Altaf Hussain suffering a cardiac arrest. However, the MQM press release did not explain the type of Altaf Hussain’s ailment, while Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Altaf Hussain only had medical check-up at a hospital and the president had sent him a bouquet of flowers.

  2. ADAM THOMPSON is under pressure by MMQ desperados and their backer Rehman Malik to come out with some sort of statement to uplift their sagging morale.

    Altaf was hell and hearty few days ago and thundering like tiger and directing his thugs to inflict pain on citizens of Karachi. What suddenly happened to this bull? Why can't MQM disclose the diagnosis of his emergency illness. Was it surgical or medical condition or was it a pysciatric disorder. He is not a normal perso. He has underlying delusions of grandeur which points to serious condition plus he. I think. has depressive illness particulary when the news is emanating from London that the Scotland Yard is about to apprehend the murderer of Imran Farooq. This is making him nervous and I would not be surprised he did make an attempt to flee to South Africa.

    Now since Zulfiqar Mirza has come out accusing him of breaking Paikistan and murdering innocent people of Sindh not in hundreds but in thousands his illness has taken a serious turn.

  7. I so totally agree with the above comment. Altaf has serious psyciatric issues as what he says makes no sense at all to the listeners. With pressure building high we will be lucky to see the fall of MQM and Insha Allah an end to the bloody era in KHI

  12. What goes around comes around, one can not deceive all the people all the times, sooner or later truth surfaces and that hopefully will happen
    It is incumbant upon Zardari and Rehman Malik to co-operate with scotland yard and extradite the wanted criminals to UK so the real culprits behind the murder can be prosecuted, Otherwise they will have to answer pakistani people themselves and should be charged with obstruction of justice

  13. it is strange that a group of people known for kidnapping, car theft, weapon factories,heroin production, smuggling is thought to be innocent. these people killed muhajirs for giving vote to fatma jinnah in 1964.a party who celeberated independence day on 15 august is considered pro pakistan.
    we are contributing 65% to revenue and we are traitors . asfand yar and zardari are honest but qadeer khan is traitors.

  14. No doubt Karachi is mini Pakistan and contributes to the progress of the country. Untill 1984 Karachi was city of peace, harmony, brotherhood and above all a progressive city. But it is very sad to note that instead of making futher progress it has made a negative progress . All are renspnsible for this including the party MQM. Batha Khori culture was also introduced by the same party listing Pan Shop to Factory Owners. Receiving Rs.75 per person is alo regular income source of this party. For God sake enough is enough. Zulfiqar Mirza's statements have opened the eyes of all Pakistanis about the cherecter and plans of MQM

  17. I am a true pakistani & lives in rajgarh lahore. i want to say that i am watching drama of zulfiqar mirza on media . Can anyone ask him that why he issued 0.3 million lisences of weapons to terrorists ? these weapons are now being used to kill innocent people in karachi . i think mirza should be hanged on this admiyyed statement . he is a monster , killer & traitor
