The Young Doctors Association (YDA) demanded on Monday the immediate suspension of the Punjab finance director for not complying with a code of the Health Professional Allowance (HPA). Thousands of doctors did not receive the special allowance worth Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 with their salaries that had been announced by the government. YDA held the Punjab finance director responsible for depriving doctors of their allowances. YDA demanded that the Punjab chief minister should suspend such incompetent bureaucrats from his team.
