The Lahore Cricket League will resume from September 20, said Lahore City Cricket Association President Khawaja Nadeem. “We are fully committed to resuming this event by generating necessary funds from our own resources,“ he told newsmen here. He said Rs three million are needed for the smooth conduct of the five month league and half of the money will be generated by all the three affiliated zones of Lahore and rest of the amount will be provided by him.
“I have already supported LCCA cricket activities by providing funds and I will do my best to make this league a huge success,” he said. LCCA Chief further said that eight matches of the league were played in May last and it could not be started in a full fledged manner because of the start of the PCB domestic tournaments including inter district and U19 championships.
“Hopefully we will be able to wind up our league in February next year and from next year it will be organized in a more professional manner with better planning and vision;” he said. LCCA President also suggested that PCB should also introduce one-day cricket and T-2O matches in it’s inter district cricket to groom specialized players for different formats of the game. He disclosed that LCCA web site will be launched next month where all the necessary information of Lahore’s cricket will be available with past and present history of the game.
