An accountability court has sought comprehensive report on Monday of the activities of the Lahore Mass Transit System Project (LMTSP) scam’s main accused Shamshad Gulzar who was allegedly involved in the abduction of key prosecution witness Section Officer (Transport) Humayun Rasheed.
On an application filed by LMTSP scam investigation officer Nadeem Sajid, the court also sought the record of cell phones being used by
the accused to control his network from the jail.
According to details, Sajid had filed an application in the accountability court submitting that Rasheed, the main prosecution witness in the scam had to appear in court on August 16 for his statement but he was kidnapped a week ago and thrown on The Mall after being severely tortured and forcibly shaven.
Sajid alleged that Gulzar who was running his network from the jail through cell phones was involved in the Rasheed’s abduction. Sajid contended Gulzar was freely using cell phones in the jail and was in constant contact with his wife Farat Shamshad, accused in the same case and detained at Camp Jail.
Sajid requested the court to protect, under section 31-E of the National Accountability Ordinance, over a hundred LMTSP scam prosecution witnesses being threatened by Gulzar’s network.
Upon this, the court directed Kot Lakhpat Jail Superintendent Gulzar Butt to submit a comprehensive report regarding Gulzar’s activities in the jail at the earliest.
Separately, the judicial magistrate (Model Town) sent on Monday Saadia Asif, who had killed her teenage servant for not serving meal to her pet dog, to jail on judicial remand until September 12.
Resident of Valencia Town, Saadia Asif had ordered her servant Taqin Usman of Chiniot to serve food to her dog when she was going to the market. On her return, she was infuriated to find the dog hungry. To punish Usman, she locked him in a room and beat him to death with a cane. After the incident, the accused woman had disappeared and was finally arrested by the police on Monday.

  1. I wonder when Pakistan will rise to its righteous greatness. Pakistan does have the ability, but I think the political and economic power is concentrated to quite few hands, (families). Break that unbalanced and unfair system of yours otherwise Pakistan will face an unsurpassed popular rising that will leave the country in total devastation. People of Pakistan need to do it right now!
There’s one thing I definitely don’t understand and that is why Pakistan left the road that Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah prescribed. I’m from Sweden and not at all religious but I tell you people that I would have been very proud to work under Quaid-e-Azam and think that I could profess to the Muslim faith as it’s described below:
“We must work our destiny in our own way and present to the world an economic system based on true Islamic concept of equality of manhood and social justice. We will thereby be fulfilling our mission as Muslims and giving to humanity the message of peace which alone can save it and secure the welfare, happiness and prosperity of mankind.“
Pakistan needs to get back on track and venerate Baba-e-Qaum by implementing his absolutely brilliant ideas. Had you followed and fulfilled Mr. Jinnah’s visions instead of making the US$ your God Pakistan would have been much better off! Pakistan would belong to the circle of most modern countries on the planet. The everlasting twaddle whether Mr. Jinnah preferred a secular nation or not is barely constructive. How hard can it be? Read what he wrote and just do it! This semi-British, semi-Islamic mumbo-jumbo administration goo you’re building the State of Pakistan upon is not at all stable and will never be either! Time to wake up Pakistanis before all your opportunities and resources are exported to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, and elsewhere. Listen folks, Mr. Jinnah are there to help you once again, please let him!
