Death toll further rises in Kohistan flood

The rescue workers Monday recovered nine more dead bodies thus rising the death toll in Kohistan torrential rains and floods to 48, officials informed.
The officials said that 15 persons are still missing and efforts are under way for their recovery.
Syed Imtiaz Shah, District Coordination Officer Kohistan said that due to rough weather in Kundeyan valley, the rescue workers facing sever problems. He confirmed rising of death toll to 48 in the heavy rains and floods, which affected several villages of Union Council Gabral.
The DCO said that food packs and other items of daily use already airlifted to the affected areas through helicopters. All roads were washed away by flood water in the area.
The officials said that all of the persons after confirmation of identity have been buried in the area.
It may be mentioned here that Kundeyan Valley of Kohistan District was badly affected by heavy floods couple of days back. The floods caused razing of several houses and destruction of roads in the area.
