An additional district and sessions judge on Thursday rejected a petition filed by a tailor against an adviser to the Punjab governor.
Complainant Shehzad Ramzan filed a petition against Zahid Bashir for raiding his shop with his accomplices and snatching money from him. Ramzan complained that he had stitched 35 suits worth Rs 415,000 but was paid Rs 84,000 by Bashir. The governor’s adviser accused the tailor of not returning the stitched clothes in time on which he raided his shop and snatched the money from him.
Ramzan said that he complained to the Defence Police Station SHO but his concerns were not attended to. He later filed a petition in court against Bashir. The court asked the SHO for comments on the case on August 25. The case was dismissed, as the petitioner’s counsel did not reply to the court’s summons. Separately, another additional district and sessions judge adjourned hearing of Supreme Court Justice Javed Iqbal’s parents murder case September 8. Suspect Naveed Iqbal submitted a petition for adjournment of the case, which was accepted.
