Chairman National Highway Authority Syed Muhammad Ali Gardezi has said that some relief has been given to NHA by providing Rs2.3 billion. However, more funds are required to continue construction activity of NHA schemes. He was presiding over NHA’s 207th Executive Board Meeting.
He said shortage of funds has badly affected the pace of work. Despite financial crunch, he said, NHA is striving to clear liabilities of the contractors so that projects could be completed well in time. The Executive Board accorded approval for rehabilitation work of 28 kilometers portion of Nowshera-Peshawar section of N-5 that was submerged during the last year’s flood.
