The Ulema Amn Council demanded on Tuesday that Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wasan should resign as they have failed to restore peace in Karachi. “An army operation is not a solution to the law and order problem of the city,” said Qari Usman, Berjes Ahmed and Qari Mustaqeem Noorani while addressing a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq.
“The law enforcement agencies have failed to counter terrorism in the city. They should start a drive to recover weapons. But the government and law enforcers are deliberately making space for the interference of international forces,” they claimed. “Karachi is suffering today due to terrorism, extortion and looting, but the government and its allies are not paying any attention at all,” they added. The council also announced that Jumatul Wida and Eidul Fitr would be observed as days of prayers and peace.

  1. Why is this man still in? Zardari should answer this.Malik is his confidant for all the dirty work that this 'Kamdar' of Zardari household has done and still doing. This obstinance falls in the perview of treason and B Awan should advise his employer otherwise Supreme court should step in.

  2. Rehman Malik in order to save his mentor Altaf Hussain and others in Nine Zero has been telling the public ridiculous stories like agents from RAW and Mossad are behing target killings. Knowing fully well that MQM terrorists are out terrorising, maiming and murdering people but he will tell us it was Bhatta Mafia doing these murders and throwing dead bodies in bags.

Has this man any conscience to tell lies when as a federal Interior Minister his main task should be to go after these murderers to which ever party they belonged. Instead of providing help to the provincial government he arrives in Karachi as a leader of MQM rather than PPP.
