Transfer and posting of dozen of BPS-19 and 20 railway officers is expected today (Wednesday) and the Ministry of Railways will issue a notification within the next two days. Some officers have started using political influences to stop their transfers. The Sukkur divisional superintendent (DS), Rawalpindi division DS, chief personnel officers and some others officials, were expected to be transferred while Deputy General Manager Farrukh Taimur and others were expected to be promoted from BPS-19 to 20.
Separately, owing to non payment of Rs 190 million electricity bill, PEPCO disconnected the electricity of the Lahore Railway Station, railway colonies and the DS office. Railway officials said that electricity was restored after negotiations with PEPCO officials. Railway assured PEPCO that the department will pay the electricity bill at the months end.
