Constable shoots a man dead

A 21-year-old man was killed by a serving police constable over a minor issue near Atif Chowk in Sandha police premises on Monday. The deceased was identified as Nabeel Chauhadry, son of Mohammad Shakeel of Sadaqat Park, Sandha. He and the accused, Hashim Butt, quarrelled over a minor issue few days ago and the matter was resolved by the elders of both the families. However, on the day of the incident, two armed men chased Nabeel’s car from Hakiman to Atif Chowk and opened fire at him. The riders escaped from the scene while Nabeel succumbed to his injuries and died in a local hospital.
In another incident, bodies of unidentified woman and child were recovered from Iqbal Town and Shafiqabad police station limits. In another development, Chief Traffic Officer Ahmad Mobeen, on Monday, praised the traffic wardens for maintaining a smooth flow of traffic on Youm-e-Shahdat-e-Ali (ra) on Monday. According to a handout, six DSPs, 13 inspectors and 365 wardens were deputed to handle the traffic during the procession.
