The residents of the capital are facing great hardships due to the unavailability of public transport, as they are forced to use taxies, which is quiet an expensive choice.
There are about 15,000 vans plying on various routes between Islamabad and Rawalpindi but they are not fit for families, especially female travellers.
People have demanded Islamabad Chief Commissioner Tariq Pirzada, Capital Development Authority Chairman Imtiaz Inayat Elahi and the Rawalpindi commissioner to take notice of the issue and ensure availability of public transport.
