The Supreme Court on Thursday disposed of a plea against the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for doubling its fares during Haj and Umrah seasons.
A three-member Supreme Court bench, comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ghulam Rabbani, disposed of the plea filed by Zulfiqar Ahmad Bhutta advocate, after finding the PIA reply satisfactory.
In compliance with the court orders, the PIA submitted its detailed reply to the plea through Attorney General Moulvi Anwarul Haq, stating that no extraordinary or unusual increase was being made in the fares during Haj and Umrah seasons.
