The Law Division on Wednesday approved the final draft of the revised services structure and raise in salaries of doctors and is to be expected to be presented to the president for approval by Cabinet Secretary Nargis Sethi in a couple of days. The Young Doctor’s Association (YDA) at PIMS was on strike for the last 29 days to demand issuance of notification of raise in salaries. All departments, including the OPD, operation theatres, Gynaecology Department and Children Hospital at PIMS were closed down, and only emergency services were being provided.
“We are satisfied, as the Law Division has passed the final draft today, and hopefully the president of Pakistan will sign it in a couple of days,” YDA Representative Dr Taqqi Anwer said. YDA would call-off its ongoing strike and duties would resume in all departments, he said after the issuance of the notification.
